Meet a mechanical turk. They train computers in tasks that are difficult for non-humans, like sentence structure and tagging images, all to improve A.I. algorithms.
But each task only pays about 10 cents so to make a decent living, mechanical turks are tethered to their computers. The irony is the harder they work, the closer they get to a time when their jobs will no longer be required.
