Yankees vs Twins | Aaron Judge Home Run Wild Card

Yankees vs Twins Highlights. Aaron Judge hits a two run home run against the Minnesota Twins in the AL Wild Card Game 2017. New York Yankees ace Luis Severino had never appeared in a playoff game at any level. After his Tuesday night wild-card start against the Minnesota Twins, he still barely has. Severino recorded just one out and gave up two home runs before he was taken out by manager Joe Girardi. Severino walked off to boos from the sellout crowd in the Bronx. Severino started well, with a 100 mph fastball for a strike to the Twins’ Brian Dozier. But from there, it went downhill more quickly than a slalom championship run. He threw three balls to Dozier, who, with the count in his favor, deposited Severino’s fifth career playoff pitch over the left-field wall.

Severino picked up an out and walked a batter before the Twins’ Eddie Rosario took him deep for a two-run long ball.

It was the shortest start in an elimination-game postseason start since Gil Heredia lasted just one out in Game 5 of the 2000 ALDS for the Oakland A’s against Derek Jeter’s Yankees.

Prior to the start, Severino sounded very confident, saying he would treat the game like any other. He might have done that, but the results were not like any other game of a breakout regular season for the 23-year-old.
